You are to create a thoughtful and reflective essay in a Microsoft Word document that has 1 inch margins (all around),
12-font Times New Roman font, double-spaced, and you are to indent each paragraph. This essay must include a minimum of four paragraphs (For this course a paragraph must be a minimum of 3 sentences, even though the APA rule is 2 sentences). This essay may be written in first person tense because this is your personal reflection. This reflective essay is to be written at a level that is indicative of your status of entering your senior year in college. Expectations
-This Reflection Paper for Dental Hygiene Clinic is about making a risk assessment case study is. to develop student knowledge of the dental clinical disciplines as well as the ability to use this knowledge in solving patient problems. Patient case studies are designed to measure students’ abilities to make appropriate judgments when faced with situations requiring the integration of biomedical and clinical dental sciences. The focus of each case scenario should be the patient and centered on delivering quality care to the individual patient. Each case should present a situation that includes a patient, a set of conditions, and a presenting complaint or problem. Conditions should model those encountered in dental offices, and problems should represent an area of dental hygiene practice you have learned. Cases should demonstrate knowledge of the more important concepts required to deliver competent dental hygiene care.
Each term of the senior year students presents one Risk Assessment Case Study during the Lab session. This is an evidence-based research oral presentation based on one of the Periodontal, Caries or Pathology (PCP) risk assessments.
Each case is presented with a “PICO” question, patient history, dental chart, radiographs, periodontal chart, and clinical photographs.
One of each PCP risk assessments must be presented by the end of the senior terms (Term 11: Caries, Term 12: Oral Pathology, Term 13: Periodontal Risk Assessment)
