ACC 1100 Final Examination Winter 2021 Time: 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (2 hours)

Exam Question Breakdown (80 points in total):
Q1 – Investment: 9 points (refer to sample final exam Q3)
Q2 – Long-lived assets: 8 points (refer to sample final exam Q2)
Q3 – Statement of cash flows: 18 points (refer to sample final exam Q4)
Q4 – Shareholders equity: 15 points (refer to sample final exam Q1)
Q5 – Inventory: 8 points (4 MCQ and 2 points each, refer to sample final exam Q5 #1 – #5)
Q6 – Multiple Choice Questions: 22 points (11 questions and 2 points each; 6 quantitative questions and 5 qualitative questions refer to sample final exam Q5)
Note: Even though the coverage of the final exam is from Day 1 to Day 23, over 90% of the final exam questions directly relate to chapters that are not covered in the midterm exam.
This is an open-book exam. You may access E-version of the textbook through LockDown Browser or any printed version of the course materials during the exam. But you are not allowed to use other electronic devices including your phone. You are required to turn off phone and place it outside of your reach during the exam. You may use the phone for emergency (e.g., medical reasons) or contacting instructor during the exam.
Online through UM Learn/Course Link/Assessments/Quizzes/Final Exam
This exam requires the use of the Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor (Webcam). If you haven’t previously downloaded and installed LockDown Brower, you will be prompted to do so before you start the quiz. Make sure you are using a device on which you have the ability to launch LockDown Browser. Once you click “Start Quiz”, it will direct you to a 9-step checks, from “STEP 1 TERMS OF USE” to “STEP 9 BEGIN EXAM”. You have to complete all 9 steps before start answering quiz questions. Detailed information of LockDown Browser and Monitor for students prepared by UM Learn is available in Appendix (the last page of this document). Student Quick Start Guide is available on UM Learn under Content/Exam Communication. Away from the camera scope or move your head too close to the camera may result in a pop-up window. To continue with the exam, just click to close the pop-up window.
A practice quiz is now available under Assessments/Quizzes/Practice Quiz for Exams. There are 9 short questions in total and you have 15 minutes to answer the questions. The practice quiz has no end date with unlimited attempts. You can do the quiz anytime and as many times as you want.
You are strongly recommended to take practice quiz at least once before the scheduled exam in order to have the Respondus LockDown Browser installed and to get used to the interface. Make sure to take the practice quiz on the same device that you will be using for the midterm exam.
To minimize potential academic dishonest behaviors during this online exam and to protect students who behave appropriately during the exam, we did following for the exam questions:
Make sure you are taking this exam in a location with a stable Internet connection. To prevent connectivity issues, turn off other devices and applications that may be using the Internet (e.g., TV, Netflix, social media, etc.).
Following information will be displayed on the “cover page” of your online final exam.
You have a total of 120 minutes (two hours) to complete this exam. At the end of this time period, the exam will have to be submitted. Countdown clock displayed on your screen toward the top of the exam. There is 1 minute grace period after 120 minutes time limit is exceeded. You could still answer/guess unfinished questions during the grace period, after which the system will not allowed you to make any further changes.

Don’t panic. As UM Learn auto-saves after each answer, most of your answers will be retained when you get back into your exam.
If you were kicked out of the exam or your computer froze, you had to reboot, log back into UM Learn and follow the same steps to get back to the quiz. This time, instead of a Start Quiz button, you should see Continue Quiz. If you are able to click it and get back into the quiz, you are all good.

The academic integrity expectations for this midterm exam are no different from those for an in-class exam. You are held to the same standards as for any other exam.
You are required to turn off phone and place it outside of your reach during the exam. You may use the phone for emergency (e.g., medical reasons) or contacting instructor during the exam. Students are expected to answer exam questions individually. You are not allowed to share your answers with or seek answers from anyone during the exam. Doing so constitutes academic dishonesty and will be reported if discovered.
Please be aware that copying or taking pictures of these exam questions and sharing them with any student who has not completed the exam, in this term or future terms, constitutes academic dishonesty and will be reported if discovered.

At the end of the exam, make sure you click Submit before closing the browser. Your answers are saved does not mean they were submitted. You must click Submit.
You have to start the exam during the short window of 9:00AM-9:15AM, April 27, 2021. Otherwise, you won’t be allowed to write this online exam.
